FKI September Teaser: Go Kart Rain Set-Up

If you ask 10 karters about driving in the rain, 9 out of 10 will tell you it is the most fun you will ever have in your go kart.  The tenth karter may even change their mind once they have the proper rain set-up.  Depending on where you live in the country, racing in the rain may not be an option, which is a real shame.  Racing in the rain is an art, develops your skill set as a driver, and is frickin’ awesome.

Here in AZ, if there is even a hint of rain, the race is off.  Luckily I do 95% of my racing in the ProKart Series in California.  Since ProKart is a regional series and travels from track to track, they run the race rain or shine and give you double points for showing up.   As an added bonus, they have the best rain set-up guide I have ever seen on their website which I have included in the free trial issue of my newsletter (see link below) along with some additional tips acquired from years of racing in the rain in Europe and the U.S.  Just so you know, I used this set-up at my first kart rain race during the 2008 Winternationals at Qualcomm Stadium and my go kart was phenomenal, easily one of the five best balanced and most fun karts/cars to drive in my entire career!
