Why Did I Create This Newsletter?
The simple answer would be passion. I have a passion for this sport spanning three decades, including two as a professional driver. Quite simply karting is a lifeline for me. Nothing can replicate the feel of driving an IndyCar or the thrill of charging into turn 1 at the start of a race like a kart.
But driving is only half the story. I also have an intense passion for the technical side of this sport and the mental challenge it presents. In fact, I spent 9 years karting “recreationally” simply to find those last few tenths on any given day, using data acquisition and set-up sheets as if I was still racing professionally.
My second response to the above question would be to grow the sport. Everyone that karts loves it at a cult-like level. That being said, I have seen to many people get a bad introduction to karting due to lack of information and/or lack of help and consequently leave the sport frustrated. I designed this newsletter to prevent this in the future.
My third response would be to give you, the reader, the most accurate and comprehensive information and more importantly, the tools to analyze your kart so you can become a better tuner. I have seen other sites out there and can tell you that some of them are simply inaccurate and none will be as comprehensive and understandable. If you try some of the things other sites are telling you, you’re not going to get the result you’re looking for. In fact, in certain instances, some of the information I am going to tell you will not work for your particular kart. The difference is that I will tell you how to figure out what you need to get that desired result instead of blindly sticking to my opinion.
If you subscribe to this newsletter, become a faster, better karter in any way, and stay in the sport as long as you can, then I have accomplished my goal. Trust me when I tell you, the pleasure is all mine!
